Posh And Becks to Split up?

Posted on 05 Jan 2010 at 1:47pm

That’s the question bookies Paddy Power are asking today after seeing a gamble on ‘Brand Beckham’ becoming the first celebrity pair to split in 2010.

The bookmaker slashed the odds on Victoria and David calling it a day from 80/1 to 33/1, to 18/1 before finally settling at 10/1. The odds were chopped after a number of new customers signed up with paddypower.com to have a maximum stake bet on the celebrity market.

The odds are available under ‘hatches, matches and dispatches’ on the bookies website. The price move has now sparked fears that a shock split announcement could be about to break for one of the world’s most famous couples.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “The Beckham’s were 80/1 on our list as they’ve been through some tough times before but always showed a united front – it’s hard to imagine them splitting up but there IS a reason why these people are having a bet -we just don’t know it yet!”

It’s not the first time the Irish bookmaker has reported a gamble on their 2010 ‘Hatches, Matches and Dispatches’ market. On 23rd December Paddy Power saw a significant number of bets come in for Cheryl and Ashley Cole to become the first celebrity couple to announce they’re having a baby in 2010. The couple are still the Even money favourites but it remains to be seen whether or not Mrs Cole has a bun in the oven!

Lloyd Daniels loosing faith in X Factor – Revealed by Fosters!

Posted on 27 Nov 2009 at 12:05am

He may be breaking hearts throughout the UK each Saturday night but a study conducted by Foster’s has revealed that Lloyd Daniels is officially the most worried contestant in the X Factor- and with good reason!.

An analysis of over one thousand quotes from the X Factor finalists, judges and fans show the Welsh teen heartthrob is the most likely to face the axe this week. Rival Joe McElderry is revealed to be the most No Worries contestant on the show.

The leading Australian beer brand used the Foster’s Ozometer to analyse quotes from the finalists and their judges, as well as both official and fan Twitter feeds for each contestant. . The technology uses algorithms to analyse language and determine how worried or carefree a person is. More than a thousand different tweets and fan site quotes were assessed enabling Foster’s to reveal which star should be worried about leaving X Factor this weekend.

With Jedward gone, Lloyd’s fears that he is now the weakest act in the competition are clearly getting to him – and his fans – as he clocks up a miserly No Worries score of just 10%. Bookies have named him favourite for the chop next Sunday, and having already appeared in the bottom two twice, the strain is beginning to show.

Geordie Joe McElderry, who has taken the competition in his stride from day one, continues to be the most relaxed contestant on the show with a No Worries score of 80%. Cheryl’s 18 year old protégée is riding high in the lead up to the final and is also tipped for the top, with bookies predicting he will go on to win.

Dance teacher Danyl Johnson follows close behind Lloyd Daniels with the Ozometer revealing he is just 25% No Worries. With harsh criticism from Cheryl Cole in particular, and reports of conflict over song choices, Danyl has had the most difficult time in the spotlight to date. Danyl’s official Twitter page reflects the nerves of the star who may also be feeling the pressure ahead of his big dance debut this weekend.

After his shock placement in the bottom two, Olly Murs’ No Worries score has plummeted to an anxious 30% The swivel hipped Essex lad had previously had a score of 48% but last week’s close shave has visibly knocked the confidence of Olly and his fans.

Es-sex symbol Stacey Soloman is close behind with a No Worries score of 74%. Having only had minor criticism from the judges, her fans have very little to worry about, with the young mum smiling through the comments each week. All of this is reflected in her official Twitter page and that of her fans, pushing her up the No Worries X Factor scoreboard.

Foster’s brand manager Natalie Clearie said: “It’s incredible that Joe McElderry manages to maintain such a No Worries attitude despite the pressure he is under – we wonder if he has some Australian in him? His fellow finalists could learn a lot from his laid back, Aussie attitude, and who knows, it might even win them some more votes this weekend.

Foster’s will be keeping X Factor fans entertained with Ozometer scores, No Worries news and views, and its pick of the best of the web, via its Twitter feed. To join and have your say, please follow them at twitter.com/FostersUK

Joe McElderry

80% No Worries

Stacey Solomon 74% No Worries
Olly Murs 30% No Worries
Danyl Johnson 25% No Worries
Lloyd Daniels 10% No Worries

No Worries Scores were calculated via analysis of finalists’ own Twitter feeds, quotes of both finalists and judges on Sunday 22 November’s X Factor show, and key fan site’s Twitter feeds .

Posted on 26 Nov 2009 at 11:49am

US rapper Eminem is being hotly tipped to become a judge on the next series of X Factor.

Dannii Minogue is the 4/6 favourite to quit or be axed from the X Factor panel, followed by Irish music mogul Louis Walsh at 7/4 and Mr Nasty himself Simon Cowell at 6/1. Golden girl Cheryl Cole looks a safe bet at 10/1 to stay on as mentor for some time to come.

Another name in the running to join Cowell and co on the X Factor panel is superstar Robbie Williams at 10/1 while it’s 12/1 Sharon Osbourne makes a welcome return.

The name’s Cole, Cheryl Cole…

Posted on 04 Nov 2009 at 4:13pm

If what we read today is to be believed, none other than Cheryl Cole has been tipped to play the next Bond girl!! The ubiquitous Ms Cole who is a Saturday night regular in our house as X Factor judge, no. 1 in both singles and album charts and the new ‘because you’re worth it’ girl, is now being pursued by none other than Dr Who himself. But Paddy Power reckon that the delectable Ms Cole is destined for far bigger and better things. So much so that they’ve slashed odds on her to be the next Bond girl!!

Cheryl has now surged ahead of other potential Bond girls on the bookies list and is just 8/1 to follow in the footsteps of all-time greats Ursula Andress, Honor Blackman and Halle Berry and become Daniel Craig’s love interest in Bond 23.

Cheryl will need to hone her acting skills though to pip other hotly tipped ladies to the Bond role, namely Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto at 3/1 and Transformers hottie Megan Fox at 6/1.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: “Cheryl doesn’t have acting experience but let’s face it with looks like hers she doesn’t really need it. She’s hot property right now thanks to the X Factor and her profile just keeps getting bigger. Also, with filming not expected to start until late 2010, she has plenty of time to take a few acting lessons!”

Meanwhile Paddy Power are also offering odds on Cheryl jumping on board the Tardis. It’s 6/1 that Cheryl guest appears in the Christmas edition of Doctor Who and 12/1 she becomes the Doctor’s assistant by the end of next year.

Other Cheryl Cole Success Specials on offer… 5/4 Cheryl to be renamed FHMs sexiest woman in 2010; 9/4 Cheryl to be cast in a major blockbuster movie before the end of 2010; 6/1 Cheryl to guest appear in Christmas addition of Doctor Who; 6/1 ‘Fight for This Love’ to get to No.1 in the States; 8/1 Cheryl to be new Bond girl; 8/1 Cheryl’s new single ‘3 Words’ to top the American Album Charts; 10/1 Cheryl to be invited to meet President Obama in the White House by 2011; 12/1 Cheryl to be made new Doctor Who assistant by end of 2010; 100/1    Cheryl to be made a Dame in the Queens Christmas Honours; 500/1  Cheryl to win a Best Actress Oscar in her lifetime
