GOSH Channel 4 Comedy Gala – Jack Dee Interview

Posted on 16 Mar 2010 at 8:32am

GOSH spoke exclusively to comedian Jack Dee ahead of Channel 4’s Comedy Gala. The Comedy Gala at London’s O2 Arena is benefitting Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

What motivated you to get involved with the Channel 4’s Comedy Gala? When I was told about it I was going to do it. I didn’t even have to think about it.

Do you have any connections to GOSH at all? My son was at the hospital when he was younger and had to stay in over several nights. It was no picnic – being in hospital never is – but everybody at the hospital were great and he’s OK now.

What are you thoughts on Channel 4’s Comedy Gala benefitting GOSH? It is great. Some causes there are no questions about helping.

What do you do to stay fit? I go to the gym and I do a bit of running. I’m regular but I’m no fanatic. I find that it’s been useful.I’ve actually just got a personal trainer. It’s Pilates for me next too. It might not be for me though.

What are your top tips for looking and feeling good? Have you seen me? I don’t think I’m the person to ask. I don’t know, maybe smile a lot: smile and the whole world smiles with you.

Have you ever had to stay in hospital? How was it? I’ve just come out. I was there last night for a hernia operation – I think I can still feel the morphine in my system.

How was it?

I really enjoyed it. Actually, I think I did. I had my own TV which was great. It was the first time I had control over the remote controller since my kids were born. In fact, I might book to go back in…

What is your advice to children and young people who have health problems? I wouldn’t dream to give them advice. They find their own way through what they have to go through and I couldn’t imagine some of the things they have to deal with.I find how kids can deal with some very serious health problems staggering. It is inspiring.

Would you have liked a health website written specifically teenagers when you were younger? I would have liked it. It would definitely have helped.

Do you have any other health advice you’d like to share? Yes I do: if you feel that there is something wrong with you, go to the hospital. Don’t worry if you think it is embarrassing – these people have dealt with everything so it isn’t going to matter to them. Getting things checked out is always the best thing to do.

Lloyd Daniels loosing faith in X Factor – Revealed by Fosters!

Posted on 27 Nov 2009 at 12:05am

He may be breaking hearts throughout the UK each Saturday night but a study conducted by Foster’s has revealed that Lloyd Daniels is officially the most worried contestant in the X Factor- and with good reason!.

An analysis of over one thousand quotes from the X Factor finalists, judges and fans show the Welsh teen heartthrob is the most likely to face the axe this week. Rival Joe McElderry is revealed to be the most No Worries contestant on the show.

The leading Australian beer brand used the Foster’s Ozometer to analyse quotes from the finalists and their judges, as well as both official and fan Twitter feeds for each contestant. . The technology uses algorithms to analyse language and determine how worried or carefree a person is. More than a thousand different tweets and fan site quotes were assessed enabling Foster’s to reveal which star should be worried about leaving X Factor this weekend.

With Jedward gone, Lloyd’s fears that he is now the weakest act in the competition are clearly getting to him – and his fans – as he clocks up a miserly No Worries score of just 10%. Bookies have named him favourite for the chop next Sunday, and having already appeared in the bottom two twice, the strain is beginning to show.

Geordie Joe McElderry, who has taken the competition in his stride from day one, continues to be the most relaxed contestant on the show with a No Worries score of 80%. Cheryl’s 18 year old protégée is riding high in the lead up to the final and is also tipped for the top, with bookies predicting he will go on to win.

Dance teacher Danyl Johnson follows close behind Lloyd Daniels with the Ozometer revealing he is just 25% No Worries. With harsh criticism from Cheryl Cole in particular, and reports of conflict over song choices, Danyl has had the most difficult time in the spotlight to date. Danyl’s official Twitter page reflects the nerves of the star who may also be feeling the pressure ahead of his big dance debut this weekend.

After his shock placement in the bottom two, Olly Murs’ No Worries score has plummeted to an anxious 30% The swivel hipped Essex lad had previously had a score of 48% but last week’s close shave has visibly knocked the confidence of Olly and his fans.

Es-sex symbol Stacey Soloman is close behind with a No Worries score of 74%. Having only had minor criticism from the judges, her fans have very little to worry about, with the young mum smiling through the comments each week. All of this is reflected in her official Twitter page and that of her fans, pushing her up the No Worries X Factor scoreboard.

Foster’s brand manager Natalie Clearie said: “It’s incredible that Joe McElderry manages to maintain such a No Worries attitude despite the pressure he is under – we wonder if he has some Australian in him? His fellow finalists could learn a lot from his laid back, Aussie attitude, and who knows, it might even win them some more votes this weekend.

Foster’s will be keeping X Factor fans entertained with Ozometer scores, No Worries news and views, and its pick of the best of the web, via its Twitter feed. To join and have your say, please follow them at twitter.com/FostersUK

Joe McElderry

80% No Worries

Stacey Solomon 74% No Worries
Olly Murs 30% No Worries
Danyl Johnson 25% No Worries
Lloyd Daniels 10% No Worries

No Worries Scores were calculated via analysis of finalists’ own Twitter feeds, quotes of both finalists and judges on Sunday 22 November’s X Factor show, and key fan site’s Twitter feeds .

Camilla Dallerup – Get me out of here! Leaves the Jungle

Posted on 18 Nov 2009 at 12:55pm

Camilla Dallerup’s decision to leave the jungle has had zero impact on the bookies betting.

The professional dancer had been a 33/1 outsider with Paddy Power to win I’m A Celebrity.

Her departure however will come as great news to a handful of punters who took the 7/2 on offer with Paddy Power that she’d be the first contestant to leave of her own accord.

Italian stallion Gino remains the 3/1 favourite to be King of the jungle while songstress Sabrina Washington is the 2/1 favourite to be eliminated by the public first.

Outright Winner 3/1 Gino Dacampo 5/1 Jimmy White 5/1 Sam Fox 5/1 Kim Woodburn 8/1 Katie Price 8/1 Lucy Benjamin 10/1 George Hamilton 14/1 Colin McAllister 16/1 Stuart Manning 25/1 Justin Ryan 25/1 Sabrina Washington

First Elimination 2/1 Sabrina Washington 3/1 Justin Ryan 6/1 Colin McAllister 8/1 Stuart Manning 8/1 Katie Price 14/1 Sam Fox 16/1 Lucy Benjamin 16/1 Kim Woodburn 18/1 George Hamilton 20/1 Jimmy White 25/1 Gino Dacampo

Jordan or Katie Price ? – Im a celebrity – get me out of here!

Posted on 10 Nov 2009 at 11:42pm

Its all a bit hush – hush but tabloids are trying to do some guess work as to who is hitting the Jungle to eat some maggots and Kangaroo thingys with Ant & Dec. Of course Katie could do with some hard cash and we just heard that TV Interior designers Justin Ryan and Colin Mc Allistar are in the process of signing on the dotted line..

Other celebs who might grace us with their prescence include : Sam Fox, Jimmy White, Mis-Teeq singer ( formerly ) Sabrina Washington and 2008 Strictly’s previous winner Camilla Dallerup.

Jonathan Ross and Friday night tv…

Posted on 24 Oct 2009 at 12:13am

Thank goodness for the pause button on tv and the ability to record!! Herself (2.5yrs) wasn’t in the form for going to sleep this evening and as if I hadn’t had enough exercise today after my marathon walk this morning, I was subjected to various trips up and down the stairs to try and settle her. Teething is a biatch. But of course, its got to be worse for the little one suffering…

So Friday night tv. Well what did I watch? I thoroughly enjoyed tv tonight… Started off with the Late Late Show. I find myself far more inclined to watch this now that PK has gone (think his new programme is very good and he’s actually very good on it – finally RTE get something right!!). So because herself was acting up, I was rather late entering the competition on the Late Late. I wait for that phone call every Friday night telling me I’ve won some super duper prize. One night Tubbers will ring me, I’m convinced of it.  But has anyone else noticed how they don’t call the competition winner live on air any more? They ring them and have them waiting off air before introducing them. I don’t like it. No element of surprise on phone and the winner sounds so completely ungrateful! It was great being able to fast forward through most of the programme tonight. No offence to wee Daniel but I didn’t watch his interview. Not a bad show overall tonight though. Great to see the Docs playing but please, message to Davy – PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CUT YOUR HAIR. Thanks.

So once Tubbers finished, it was straight to the remote to click on menu and recordings and Jonathan Ross – what a great line up! I’m going to buy Jamie Callum’s album, great voice. Joanne Page of Gavin & Stacey undoubtedly had THE best comeback line to JR himself – “am I the only girl who’s ever sat on this couch and sucked you dry?” GENIUS!!! Speaking of, Tim Minchin… I’d never heard of this guy before but what a comedic genius! Thought Boy George was great.  And of course, JR stripping down to his jocks?! Hello???! Who else would or COULD get away with that?!

And with that I’ll call it a night. Might check in tomorrow.

Invention Of Lying – Did we like it … really?

Posted on 15 Oct 2009 at 11:50pm

Well dont take our word for it , but no one we spotted over at the reviewing Q at IMDB had a good word to say..

Worst film of the year goes to… Bad acting mixed with over the top. People would not act that way even if they had to tell the truth. There were a few funny moments but overall it was just terrible. The trailer made this film look one way when it went another. Anti religion was theme no matter how you put it. I heard maybe one or two laughs from the audience. The film wasn’t about people not being able to lie, as it was about people thinking out loud. There is a scene in the movie where a woman standing outside of her work place tells him she doesn’t want to go in today. He didn’t ask her, she is just randomly thinking aloud. This movie could have just been a 3 min segment for a bad comedy television show.

In fact it looks all the worse when they have 10 stars instead of 5… 1 out of 10 is fairly dismal…
